Creating a runway so your manifestations can land -- Part 1
Imagine the skies around LAX when there’s a traffic back
up. Have you ever seen it? Like a mirror of the LA freeways at rush hour
– only in the skies – seemingly hundreds of airplanes circling in a holding
pattern. The first time I saw it I
wondered, for a moment, if the city was
being attacked by aliens.
What if the ethereal space around each of us looks like an
LAX backup? All these things we've been asking for, praying for, treating for just waiting for an open runway that allows landing in our reality.
Often I hear my students talk about putting out a
“manifestation” and seeing it and feeling it, and then it doesn’t come – after
a little bit. What to do then? What’s going on.
How are you fogging in your runnway?
Our beliefs play such a crucial role in what we can manifest
and so does our attitude. Both are able
to stop the manifestation process in mid-air – or create manifestation traffic back
ups to our reality. In this post I'm going to explore attitude. In the next one, I'll take on the role of beliefs how easy it is for our beliefs to land.
Attitude – What is your attitude?
Do you get pissed off when you don’t get what you
were manifesting for? Angry? Resentful?
Defiant? Self-pitying? Do you hop on the victim train? “I never get what I want.” “It never works for me.” “What’s the use.” (This used to be one of my favorites.) “God/the universe/the source hates me.” Do you cry and shout and scream, or do you
yell or quake in fear and anxiety that you are not getting this thing you
need/want/desire? “If I don’t get blank,
my world will end.” “It will be a
disaster.” “I’ll never make it.” "I don't want to go on." On and on it goes. I bet you have a few favorites you could add
to the mix.
Every one of the above is a traffic stopper. It so fogs in your runway that nothing will
land and in the process you’ll be creating more of what you already have.
What if the universe wants to give us what we ask for? So we ask for money or that new car, or our
most compatible soul mate or better health or, or, or – you fill it in. And then, when it/he/she doesn’t arrive
within our prescribed time limit, we begin to exclaim something like “I knew
I’d never get __________!”
Or, what if we get resentful because someone else seems to
be getting what we want and we aren’t.
Of course, in our judgment we are more worthy than they. We’ve been asking longer, been more faithful,
etc. Whatever! Ever stop to think that something much more fabulous for you might be around the corner?
Unless of course, you stop its arrival with your resentment.
What do all these sum up to?
Bad attitude and more traffic stoppers! In addition, there are probably some beliefs
stashed deep within our subconscious that send out different messages to the
universe. If you truly believe and/or
tell yourself you are a loser, then you are not going to win, or you’ll win and then
lose it. Either way it fulfills the
belief.
As you can tell from the size of this post, this is a huge
subject. Let us focus on attitude in this post. Part 2 is about changing our limiting beliefs.
First Step to having a runway-creating attitude. Gratitude!
Yes, an attitude of gratitude in
your life makes every moment of now a much better place to be. Instead of looking to the future – to what
you want, focus on what you have. And be
thankful for that. If you have a
business and want more clients, take a look at your current behavior. Are you thanking God/the Universe/Creator/The
source for the clients you have now? Are
you grateful for the business you have now?
I can almost hear some folks as they read this. “Yes, but!!
Yes, but the clients I have now are so difficult, controlling, picky,
can’t see their own beauty, can’t see my excellent work, won’t let go of
beliefs so they’ll heal, etc. I want
clients that are open and receptive and appreciate me.”
So, are you appreciating the clients you have now? Are you grateful for the lessons that your
difficult clients bring to you? I’ve
said this before in my blog posts and it’s time for it again. What you resist, persists. And if you resist your current clients for
example, or your current situation, you’ll just get more of the same.
There is so much to be grateful for all around us. If you are reading this, you are on a
computer which means you have access to that computer and the internet. Be thankful for that. If you are sitting at a desk, say thank you
to the Universe or whomever you thank that you have a desk at which to
sit.
Someone once taught me to locate my first priority! What is your first priority? What did you think of here? Put your hand over your mouth and pinch your
nose closed so that no air gets in or out.
In about 40 to 60 seconds your first priority in life will become very
obvious. Yes, breathing. To read this you must be breathing, so be
thankful for that. It means you are
alive. And no matter how bad things are, if you are alive, it can change.
Right now, stop reading this and make a list of the 10
things you are most grateful for. I’ll
do the ones that come to me in the moment.
That I’m alive and healthy. That I have a wonderful little house to live
in, with a fabulous landlady, some very special friends in my life, 3 wonderful
cats, Thetahealing in my life, a computer so I can write this, that I’ve been
honored by the universe to be allowed to learn all that I have learned up to
now, that I have businesses that I enjoy, people I love who do my classes, that
I can write, that I’m able to write this in this moment. I can go on and on.
I took on a challenge of writing a list of 100 things I
was grateful for in my life. Once I got to 100 I felt soo great, that I just
kept going. More and more things I wanted to acknowledge kept popping into my head. I finally stopped because I
wanted to start something else, not because I ran out of things to write. Just writing the 10 items above lifted my
spirits even higher and I was already in a great place. Make gratitude a moment to moment practice. Walk through you house, your job, when you are
in traffic and locate things to be grateful for.
Traffic, you say! That’ll never happen. Be grateful for traffic? No Way!
Why are you in traffic?
Are you heading to your job? Be
grateful for the job, and for the car, and for the gas that is allowing you to
be in this traffic. Are you going to
meet someone you love? Be grateful for
that. I listen to books on tape, so when
I see that I’m going to be slowed by traffic, it just means I get to listen to
more of the tapes. And I’m grateful for that because I enjoy it.
I may be being a bit pedantic about this. I get such arguments from folks when I
mention the "G" word. Seems they want to
make a list of all the reasons not to be grateful or a list of all that’s
wrong. You can do that if you want. I’ve just found that it’s much more effective
to focus on what I have to be grateful for.
If you want to manifest something, here’s a great place to
start. Let’s say it’s money. Sit down and write 10 times – Thank you for
the money I have now and for the more that comes to me now. IF it's love, then write Thank you for the love I have in my life now and for the more that comes to me now. While you are doing that, notice the little
voices in your head and what they say.
Write those down too, and we’ll deal with those in Part 2 of this blog
post. Most likely, those are your
beliefs that are tying up the traffic on your runway.
Developing an attitude of gratitude definitely begins to lay
the foundation for the runway so your manifestations/blessings can land. So here's my challenge. Begin your day with 10 things you are grateful for. End you day with 10 things you are grateful for. And take that 100 things you are grateful for challenge and keep it handy so that you can re-read it when you need it.
If you’d like the Creator of All that Is/Source of All that
Is/God’s/the Universe’s perspective, definition and understanding of attitude,
say YES out loud right now. And if you’d
like your perspective, definition and understand to be the same as Creator of
All that Is/Source of All that Is/God’s/the Universe’s say YES again.
If you’d like the Creator of All that Is/Source of All that Is/God’s/the Universe’s perspective, definition and understanding of gratitude, say YES out loud right now. And if you’d like your perspective, definition and understand to be the same as Creator of All that Is/Source of All that Is/God’s/the Universe’s say YES again.
